New Horizons
2020, HD video with sound, 2’A computer-generated ocean sunrise and sunset combined with found footage audio. The audio is a voice-over from a promotional film by General Motors made for the 1939-40 New York World's Fair. The video was part of their Futurama exhibition that was on display in their Highways and Horizons pavilion. The voice-over paints an utopian image of the future, on the eve of the Second World War.
