2017, digital projectors, two LCD monitors, two beach chairs, LED par, cyclorama
Four projected green screens accompanied by two teleprompters and two beach chairs bathed in the light of a LED spot. At certain times one or more green screens dissolve and are exchanged for a computer-generated view.
Chromakeys (blue screens and green screens) are used on film sets as a placeholder for a specific imaginary scene or object that is filled in afterwards during post-production. The finished film shows no trace of those placeholders. Here, however, they aren’t erased. They stand on their own, as carriers for an infinite number of imaginary possibilities.
Temporarily installed January 26th in the cyclorama studio of Chinastraat in Ghent (Belgium).
